Day 8.

Making a SKIMPY but don't have enough fabric for the waist band? No problem!  Luccello stock ready made bias binding in the perfect width cut from Liberty prints ready to go.

There are many other options to buy by the meter in store including the one I used.   Instructions for creating the bow are given below.

1. To create the bow take a piece of bias binding 8 to 10cm long and run a gathering stitch down the middle.

2. Pull the threads as tightly as possible.

3. Position the short ends as best you can together at the back and thread a needle with the threads from one end of the gathering.  Stitch through the middle to hold the gathering in place.

4. Use the threads from the other end to stitch your bow securely to the front of the knicker and hey presto, you're all done!  The knicker in an Australian size 10 (US6) is now available from my Etsy shop.  The sewing pattern is also available right here.
